Have a house that was bought from an amish family, the home was "rewired" 5 years ago...not to code...probably is going to need complete rewire, but regardless the issue is that the service dropping down from the pole is located at one corner of the home and the Main load center is located 70 feet away on the opposite side of home. It looks like the people before had an SEU cable running through the basement 70' all the way to the panel location which is a No No..the problem is that this was obviously not inspected when done originally and I have to solve the issue of getting the power from the meter base to the panel 70' away. Can't run underground from meter base and can't strap SEU cable to house and punch through at panel. Does anyone know of a solution or an NEC reference for URD cable ran in conduit inside home to get the the panel location? Other opThanks!
