Meter base distance from windows

Underground fed house meter has a minimum distance from windows? I know overhead ones do but are there requirements for underground fed ones ? Thank you

There is no minimum distance requirement from a window in the NEC.

Thanks. I thought so. I just recall one elec inspector telling me the 3 ft rule for my underground meter I installed. Thanks

There are required minimum distances from a window for the drop on an overhead but even those distances would not apply to the meter enclosure itself.

I have many inspectors over the years comment on a meter base too close to a window.... Eventually they have had to allow it as they realized they were not correct. I am not sure how this came about other than the confusion with the meter and distances from windows-- which is 3'

Open conductors associated with an overhead supply are what has restrictions around openings in buildings. A window or even a section of a window that does not open has no restrictions here.
