Meter combo has 2nd heat pump-generator add

My house was built with an addition. The electrician ran the second heat pump out of the meter combo. The whole house generator feeds the load center and sub panel. I would like the 2nd heat pump to have generator power as well. Available slots in main only. 200amp main and 100 amp sub (critical load), Would he have done this because of lack of slots, exceeded limit or ease? Thks

You would have to ask the electrician? There should have been some discussion before the work was done.
