Meter disconnect

I have plans that has 800A 240/120V service incoming and has meter disconnect. I thought meter disconnect would be needed if their is self contained meter over voltage of 150V to ground.

Has anyone ever seen meter disconnect for 240/120V single phase system?

At 800 amp, I hope it's a CT setup, so a meter disconnect wouldn't make much sense (at least, I can't see needing one).

Meter disconnect rules are per the POCO

It's actually a fair Q , the poco's as well as the NEC are moving toward external disco's

my last 600A service had a fused switch , about 3' wide 4' tall iirc

i found that the RK5 fuses also had more AIC rating for the $$$
