Meter Housing to Main Panel Distance

Hi,
Can someone specify the raceway distance limitations for SEC coming from a meter to a main panel? I always thought it was up to 5 feet away, but can't seem to find code, thanks.

The NEC does not specify a limit on the SEC's entering the structure. In some places 5' is too long due to local interpretation. If they remain on the outside the length is unlimited.

The service conductors from a meter socket to a main disconnect can be unlimited in length as long as they are "outside" the building by the NEC. That said, many POCOs specify how far a main can be from the meter and where.
Now if you are asking how far in the building they can go, that is another matter. The NEC just says " nearest the point of entrance" (see 230.70(A)(1). Many AHJs have there own opinion or requirement for what length may allowed to go inside. Many AHJs don't allow service conductors inside at all, or for that matter many POCOs won't either.
