Question #1: Say I have a 600 amp rated meter bank assembly fed from a 1000 amp OCPD. Can you cite a violation? I say no. Even I have a load calc for 800 amps, can you cite anything other than 110.3(B)? I see nothing in 312 that address protection of this equipment.
Question #2: Say I have a 1000 amp OCPD feeding a 10 foot or less feeder tap with a tap ampacity of 400 amp feeding a 400 amp rated meter bank assembly with a calculated load of 399 amps combined off of the meter bank. Is this compliant? (it looks like they tried to clear up 240.21(B)(1)(1)(b) for 2014 but didnt improve it much.....)
for both questions assume the meter bank has OCPD for each metered feeder
