meter to check energy flow to and from the grid

I have a customer with serious doubts about his electric bill and am looking for a meter that can be connected using CTs to the main feed to the distribution panel. I have one that cant tell the difference between energy sent to the grid and energy received from the grid. We would like to leave it in place for a couple of weeks to verify what is happening. Does anyone know of a good product of this type? Thanks

Any meter that can measure power flow direction and measure true watts independent of power factor will require a voltage connection to L1 and L2 and not just the CT input. I assume you can provide that?

This is what we use to monitor production and consumption on buildings where we install PV when the PV system itself doesn't do monitoring. It's pretty simple to install. It's usually a permanent installation, though.

IMO, everyone who installs solar on their home should have a better way of monitoring it than just looking at their utility bill. We install production and consumption monitoring on every system we install.

Check out ekm metering. I have used their stuff for submetering applications and am happy with it.

There is a good system for monitoring the solar production. The problem is monitoring consumption. That is why we would like to have a meter with CTs that can sense flow direction. We would like a temporary install of the meter since we hope to find the source of the problem and fix it.

It can monitor consumption as well. You put CTs on the solar and CTs on the service conductors and the website does the math.
