How have you handled this issue on any of your projects?
I have a building with a 20 HP booster pump and a 3/4 HP jockey pump, both controlled from the FM approved controller cabinet.

Depends on the utility, most common in the south, is the poco has CT’s in the utility transformer cabinet, so the fire pump is on the load side with the building service, up north, a lot of utilities have a CT cabinet remote from the transformer, and fire pump feed is pulled from there. Some older buildings, the utility CT’s are in a pull section in the main gear. The fire pump feed can also originate there, providing it’s a pull section, and does not contain the main.

This is a 4 story apartment building. I would love to have the utility use CT metering in the service pad mount transformer and run both the building service and the booster pump through the CT's. I think that would be better than some meter box on the wall. Will try to get the utility to do that. I have seen the meter on pad mount transformers here before.

That’s probably going to be a meeting with the poco engineers, is this a new building? Or retrofit? Should be a house panel feeding the elevator and landlord equipment. Could be metered through that if certain conditions can be met.
