metering vault classification

Situation:
A municipal has residential or commercial gas (natural gas) meters installed in vaults under the sidewalks and the vaults are covered with solid metal doors. I assume there are regulator present in the vaults.

Q1. Would the vaults be classified?
Q2. If so, which classification is most apppropriate?

Thanks

Is it just a meter, or are other things present?

It would be for personnel working in if the following applies

It would be for personnel working in if the following applies

Not per NEC put per OSHA it would depending on the following:

Is large enough for a person to enter and perform assigned work, has an entry and exit opening that may be limited in size and/or number and is not intended for continuous human occupancy

You would have to review the space for the following potntial hazards.
Hazardous atmospheres
Engulfment hazards
The internal configuration of the confined space
Physical hazards
Structural hazards
Electrical hazards
Mechanical hazards
Biological hazards
Radiation hazards

None of this makes it a classified area for electrical purposes.
