Are you talking about the conductors on the utility side of the meters, between the meters and panels, or both? Also are these serving dwelling units?
I am installing a two meter for two dweling units and need to know if I need to install a 200 amp wire from the meeter to the wheater heads on top of the riser for PGE hook up

That wiring is sized based the load calculations for the two occupancies.

Pretty standard around here to just do a 200 amp service, 2' pvc, 4/0 alum, or SEU cable. I have seen many older services for 2 family with 1 1/2" conduit and copper conductors sized for 150 amp services but that is not common today.

That is what I would likely do in that situation too. I never get asked for load calcs on resi, but we should caution the OP that he could be asked for them.

This is one case where if the load calc came out to 100 you could supply this with 100 amp conductor even though there is 100 and 125 amp mains.
