Metric conduit in the US

I would like to occasionally use stainless steel metric conduit on machinery for the US market. This conduit has isometric "running threads", which are strait cut non-tapered threads. I'm sure that I can adhere to 344.42(B) as long as I refrain from using couplings. I would use only compatible metric conduit bodies and hubs. How do I comply with 344.28? The electrician will have to do some field threading, but he/she would have to violate the taper requirement to meet the ISO Form 1.5mm pitch requirement.

Should 344.28 and 342.28 be amended to read that field threads (or all threads for that matter) shall match the threads on the mating fittings?

Is this simply a trade barrier that protects US manufacturers of NPT conduit to the detriment of worldwide standardization?
