After researching manufacture instruction on line I noticed that the manufacture provides the meter enclosure when the service equipment is installed on the manufactured home.
So that provokes me to ask are we at liberty to install the service equipment on the manufacture home or when it is allowed for in the code does it have to be the manufacture that provides for this
Yes and I agree that it is clear that it is allowed.
My question is more about the manufacture instructions that I reviewed it seems that the manufactures have strict installation instructions And when the national electrical code says
“Means shall be provided for the connection of a grounding electrode conductor to the service equipment and routing it outside the structure.”
As I reviewed the electrical requirements I noticed the manufacture provide the meter enclosure and the conductors from the meter to the distribution panel the instructions indicated that the grounding electrode conductor was to be connected in the meter enclosure.
My question is when you chose to use this allowance do you need to say special order one from the dealer so that these provisions can be met.
I only seen one that the service equipment was installed in the manufacture home ( in contrast to on the manufacture home) At the time I thought that was a pretty cool set up. And they indicated to me that was supplied that way from the manufacture
My question is it the norm to site install a service in the interior of the manufacture home or is it the norm to special order one and the manufacture provides the provisions to make the installation compliant with the NEC.
I would think you would order it with the meter - if the manufacturer gives that option. Not all the time a meter is needed, or doesn't necessarily have to be on the house.
