Have just been asked to get my Michigan Masters License. Although I am a native, I have not lived there for awhile. Their website makes it sound like they only license people who are residents of Michigan. Are there any work arounds?

from Michigan.gov website.......A non-resident electrician who is licensed in another state or country may receive a temporary journeyman electrician license for a period of not more than 90 days after it is determined the non-resident electrician qualifies for examination. The non-resident electrician must submit a letter requesting a temporary license to be issued, stating what date they want the temporary license to take effect. A $40.00 fee is required for issuance of a temporary journeyman license.
I don't see anything relative to the masters license though. I would email them at bccelec@Michigan.gov and ask them.

Thanks!

Thank you sir, I did just that and there is no residency requirement.

Correct. I was still living in Tennessee in November 2017 when I took my Michigan Master electrician exam. I was able to take it at the PSI exam center in Knoxville. I have since moved back here to Michigan (where I am originally from).
