Would an otherwise functioning 240V micro-inverter measure 240VAC when not connected to grid?
Tech support wants me to measure AC Voc which I have never heard of.

Maybe they just want you to confirm that the AC side of the micro or the trunk cable is properly connected and seeing AC voltage when the circuit's breaker is closed. But yeah, that term has no clear meaning.

The inverter only outputs an AC voltage, when grid voltage is already available and within tolerance, otherwise it outputs zero. "Open circuit AC voltage" would be zero. It's possible they could mean measure the grid voltage prior to inverter operation.

A line interactive inverter should have no output when not connected to the grid.

But some sort of off grid inverter could have output without the grid. I don't know if any such product exists as a micro-inverter.
