Microwave outlet not working

I did not read the posts below the op. Given the voltage reading I agree with the member who said an open neutral. It could be fed thru a gfci and the breaker would not trip if there is no return path, Check the back of the receptacle that the mv is plug into

The thing is, I don't know which outlets (receptacles) are on the same circuit with the problematic one, or even if there are any. The only GFI I know of is the one I described earlier, which is not tripped; there are no GFI breakers in my MDP and no other outlets have test buttons.

Easy-- turn off the breaker that kills power to the mv receptacle and see what else goes off

I am willing to bet that at some point the OP will find a receptacle with the side burnt off it. I have several in my collection, none were back stabbed. None were pigtailed, all carried the load to the receptacle, or the one downstream from it.

The receptacle 'upstream' from the MW outlet may have burnt, and may not have anything plugged into it, or may have something plugged into it and it's still working. More than a 50 percent chance that it may be a burnt receptacle feeding the MW receptacle.
