Midwest residential pricing

Merry Christmas

I realize many here are against the practice of bidding new construction by a sq ft price.

Regardless of how the final cost is achieved I’m curios as to what that number is coming out to be
when it comes to say 3-4K square foot custom builds.

I’m not talking bare bones. Recessed lighting, 3 or 4 240V openings, 3 and 4 way switching for convenience in moving from room to room, reasonable things.

I’m in the Midwest and that number in my immediate area is $5-$7 a sq ft.

This is all material ( except hanging fixtures provided by owner) permits and labor
rough and finish wiring.

Anybody want to chime in ?

I haven't wired a new home in almost two years, but here's what I remember of some custom stuff....

5500 sf home I was at $28,500 with $8,500 in adds so about $6.75/sf

3-story 3500 sf with ADU apartment, elevator, generator was $18,800 with $3,400 in adds so about $6.35/sf

4200 sf was $23,700 with $2,000 in adds so about $7.30/sf

3 story 3100 sf with 2nd kitchen on 3rd floor was $16,000 with $6,000 in adds so about so about $7.10/sf
