So I am watching TV today and notice an ad about Might Fixit Tape. This tape fixes leaks, fixes tree branches and all kinds of things. Then it tells us it is rated for 8000 volts. Seriously?? you can safely wrap an 8000 volt connection with this stuff and feel safe??
I wonder where they obtained the voltage rating from? I still do not believe it will maintain 8000 volts. Anyone else hear about this stuff?

They did not say you could wrap an 8k conductor and feel safe, but you may be able to put it on a door knob to stop a static shock when grabbing the door know. I know that's stupid but static shock can be several thousand volts and that would stop it. The TV crap is always a word game.
