For those reading and ready to take an exam, I wish you all luck. I highly recommend MIKE HOLTS National Electrical Code Library. The dvds are very intersting and Mike does a great job on keeping you motivated. After the first dvd I was hooked and all I wanted to do was study, study, study. Minnesota's master's exam has only a 20% passing rate and I found the exam to be very difficult but relaxing in a way do to my knowledge from the books and dvds from Mike Holts. I had passed with a 83%. I have learned more in the last year from this library compared to what I thought was code but wasnt correct code in the last 8 years. Thank you Mike Holts and all of your team members.{ thumbs down was a type error.}

Congratulations, but I don't understand the thumbs down and I would bet Mike would be the first to tell you he isn't God.

However Mike Holt will give credit where credit is due: All of his texts have the following page:
"I dedicate this book to the Lord Jesus Christ, my mentor and teacher"

Despite what you might have seen on Ben Hur and other movies of that genre, if you were a gladiator who had just been defeated in battle, and the winner standing above raised his sword in salute to the emperor, you would probably prefer the emperor to give the ?thumbs down? signal. The question being asked by the raising of the sword is not ?do I let him live,? but rather ?do I kill him.? A ?thumbs up? reply from the emperor meant ?yes, you kill him.? Somehow, that signal changed through the centuries, so that ?thumbs up? is now interpreted as being good news. I think that is why the movies always showed the blood-thirsty crowds yelling and screaming and pointing their thumbs down.

Charlie, I know that from all the times I went to the Colosseum, but I don't think the ancient meaning is what is meant with the icon as far as what we use it for do you?

I agree with Roger, we are not at the Colosseum, now it's not the emperor we are imitating but the Fonz. ;)

Nick D,

The reason I try so much is to proved a better life for my family. You reap what you sow.
It is admirable to want to help others. I am grateful to all who continue to correct and guide me.

Congratulations on passing. Don't forget to change your occupation in your public profile to something more appropriate. :D

Wow -- the pass rate on the master exam is only 20%?! I think it was somewhere in the 40s when I passed the old exam. Glad I took it when I did. :)
