We have purchased a two zone LG mini split and I am pretty straight on all the power requirements for the outdoor units and those coming to the indoor units. My question is about breaking up the power/signal wires running from the OD unit to the ID units; that is what I am seeking input on.
I will have two head units, so a power run to each and a control run to each. I've read in their installation manual that you can run 14/4 up to 132' - but I have also read both in the installation manual and elsewhere that it's better to separate the power and signal lines. This entire project is a lot of work, and in getting conflicting information and am thinking to just choose the most conservative path by running them apart; power lines with the line sets and condensate drain and then the control lines in their own hard conduit, separate wall penetrations, routed separately from the line sets/power to the head units, all the way, etc.
Right now I am planning on using 14-2C Type MC for the power connection and them am planning to run some other 14AWG (perhaps shielded) for the control lines.
My questions:

My questions:
- Is my taking such an approach a good idea to remove the potential of signal conflicts or is it overblown?
- Since the 14AWG is only for controls, can I be more flexible on the wire type (shielded 14AWG speaker wire)?
