How can the max fuse be 15 even though the MCA is also 15? Doesn’t the current need to be less than 80% of the OCPD?

I didn’t realize that 9 was the total current of the unit.

That is already part of the manufacturers calculations, no need to add anything.

Probably because prior to the 2023 NEC, the smallest permitted branch circuit was a 15 amp circuit.
