I like using mines and compression fittings both inside/dry as well as outside. had a guy tell me I should be using set screw inside. I don't care if my way cost a little more I think it looks better.Anything wrong with mines and compression inside?

Depends on your monkeys. If set screw misses pipe when cut too short, then compression may be more idiot proof.

Neither may be adequate for assured bonding specs.

Minie? What is it?

I always prefer one hole straps over minies for looks, and prefer set screw connectors and couplings because I think they provie a better bonding path (but all listed connectors and couplings have been evaluated for use as the fault return path) . However with minies, you don't need the box offsets.

What I dislike about Minerlac straps is that the mounting hole needs to be drilled before the conduit is installed. Say you had a length of EMT between two boxes with one-hole straps you can install the straps after everything is installed. With Minerlac straps you would need to install the straps before installing the EMT.

I see no reason to ever use a compression fitting on EMT in a dry location except for when using conduit bodies. I like the aesthetic of not having the set screw in an off center orientation. (Yes, everyone uses EMT connectors with conduit bodies). All around steel set screw fittings are faster, easier to install, and better.

Nothing wrong with it. All how you were brought up in the trade. Some people love both of the things you mentioned. Me personally I like 1holes and set screw.

The biggest problem I have with compression is having to channel lock them and on straight runs on a wall they make the the pipe stick out off the wall because of the extra width of the coupling.

You do you brother!

Gee, probably the first time you didn't say the insurance companies would have a problem with it.

I've been hiding the Insurance Industry's educational conference for denying claims.
