Are there any widely accepted references that define minimum expected bolted fault currents availalble for specifc electrical services, at the service enterance (ie. 240V, 200A; 480V, 800A)? I realize transformer capabilities and cables impedances and lengths make the difference. I'm just wondering if there are any general untility guidleines for minimum bolted faults delivered. I assume not since I haven't seen any, but this arena is new to me. I am investigating arc flash incident energy for some product installations in which the minimum available bolted fault current appears to be the worst case.
