What is the minimum size copper conductor per NEC for a AHU with a name plate of MCA 31.4 and a MOCP of 35?
What is the minimum size copper conductor per NEC for a AHU with a name plate of MCA 31.4 and a MOCP of 35?
Depends on a few factors. The most common situation, the minimum would be a #10 Cu, however, if you are dealing with NM or SE in certain situations, it would be a #8.
Those numbers also assume no ambient problems and terminations allowable at 75? (for the
#10)
The total lineiar feet of the conductor should also be considerd to prevent excess voltage drop.
A # 10 copper conductor at 80 degrees ambient 75 degree celsius insulation no more than three conductors in a raceway would be sutible for 64 feet.
