minimum distance for switches from showers

Is there a minimum distance for switches next to showers. I have a print that shows a switch almost in a shower. I put the switch on the other side of the wall just to keep it off the shower wall so it could not be used while taking a shower. Now the builder wants me to flip it around. I could have sworn I have been tagged for having a switch this close before but now I can't seem to find a code on it. From the edge of the wall to the shower is only about 6 inches. This print is not to scale.

There is no minimum distance in the NEC.

How precise of small dimension measuring devices do you have? Only restriction is it can't be "in" the shower, any figure greater then "zero" outside of the shower is acceptable.

That is NEC minimum, you are free to place it elsewhere like you did for your own reasons.
