Minimum ground clearance for disconnect

Where can I find the minimum ground clearance for an outdoor disconnect in the NEC. I don't know of any requirments for minimum clearance from ground.

This question comes up quite a bit and I always wonder why? Is it that mounting it a convenient height to work on it isn't feasible?

IT may be required to be installed within ADA minimum height requirements.

Is it possible that there is an ADA height requirement for an outdoor disconnect above the ground?

I can see from your title there is a strong possiblity that you are in California, land of the "all in one" service. I would guess that you would be limited by the height of the meter stipulated by the poco, seeing as how the disconnect is right next to the meter in the same enclosure.

But as others have said, there is no NEC minimum. In this area, we have this nice little treat called snow  so we have to take that into consideration.

This brings up another question. Is this a service disco or a/c disco??? Not that it really matters but we cannot assume it is dictated by the Podco.

Good point Dennis. And we all do, at times, read way to much into a post. It would be nice if the OP would hang around during a thread and give us more info, instead of simply throwing a vague question out amongst the Forum and leave. Just a thought.

I agree. Leaving out certain pieces of information can drastically change the answer and pertinent code section.
