I just had a weird encounter with a POCO serviceman. I had an late night call to replace a burned out Aluminum service conductor at a residence from the Weather head to the meter. It has a 100 amp main and I replaced the AL wire with #4 copper. This is a METER/Combo all in one.
The POCO service man came by to reconnect and said it would not pass " you need #2 CU"
Is there some new code I am not aware of?

I am really pissed that he told this to the customer.

yea I know it's ok for the service entrance providing it carries the entire load.

Maybe he was pissed because he did not have the proper crimps. I did notice he spilled out his bag on the ground as I found the mess in the morning.
