Minimum size branch Ckt Commercial

I have giving up looking for the answer, does anyone know what the minimum size branch ckt size is for a commercial building feeding a 120 volt recpt? I thought is was #12 whether it was on a 15 or 20 amp breaker. (Let's assume we are using THHN)

Nope 15 amp receptacles with #14 are legal. You can not find it 'cause it ain't there. 180 VA is the load calc.

Generally you do not see 15 amp branch circuits in commercial however it is compliant.

Specs may require 20 amp circuits but even if it didn't I bet most would not use 15 amps. Code does not require 20 amps in a commercial building.

For anything under 2000 volts a 14 copper or 12 aluminum, see Table 310.5 Minimum Size of Conductors

Just another urban code myth. Like you can't put the receptacles and lights on the same circuits.

Rules, codes, urban myths, specs, et all- you don't pull anything smaller than 12AWG in conduit unless it is for control wiring and that is that.

Psst, don't tell him, but I never ran smaller than #12 in commercial either, but that doesn't mean you can't.
