Minimum size conductors/output of VFD ??

Is there a minimum conductor size limit for the output side of the VFD ?

I have a VFD driving a small motor with a nameplate FLA of 1.6A Fed with AWG 16 Screened VFD cable.

I have been all through 430.122 Other than the standard 125% of FLA as determined by 430.6 (A) - (B)

I would use #14 for the physical strength.

it looks like NFPA 79 12.6.1.1 would allow that cable to be used.

But I do agree with Larry that you should just never use anything under 14awg unless its for low voltage controls.

NFPA 79 does typically apply to anything an electrician does. 79 starts at the load end of the supply circuit that the electrician installs.
