I found a missing link in a piece the other day, makes me a believer in gfci. This was on a grounded but non gfci and didnt find out till after it had a line to line fault that the ground pin in the cord was faulty.

I found the cover, we need a belt. Has a 4 pole motor. I was busy when we got it, seems I fixed the switch and assumed it was grounded. He tested it after. We dont have formal apprenticeship but have had several young guys go and do well. One an electrician and one other in trades runs jobs. Everyone gets the lessons in where to hook the green or bare wire, the difference in panels it applies to. My helper has friends always moving stuff and I train her on the dryers.
I found the first one in a while in a resi the other day was wired right. Wasnt 4 wire but was old enuf that 3 wire was common and it had the strap.

I am sure Don the mod here does not remember but I study for a year under him and Keis at ETF. Bought a code book. I am really grateful to those 2 today from not throwing me off for not knowing some abreviation aws stupis like egc maybe but took a while for me to get the "essesence " of grounding and was working on a well project and the well guy is a guesser, phones too and going thru this with these guys really hit home to learn what I didnt know.
