We had a 2" EMT run installed that passes along the outside wall of a commercial building before going into the building via an LB.

The LB connector and the one EMT coupling that is on the outside of the building were installed using indoor style fittings.

Is there some fix to this other than tearing everything out ?

Thanks,
Andy

So you have an LB that enters a building.Unless it is a flush type service LB then the connection would be within the wall.If it inside the wall why change anything.

Allen, he's talking about the exposed end of the LB and the coupling that joins the two sections of exposed EMT.

Andy, the only shortcut I see is to drill a weep hole on the bottom of the LB, but properly requires re-doing it all.

The EMT is vertical w/ a weatherhead, or is it a horizontal run? If the other end is open to rain, don't bother.

wrap it in duct tape and paint no one will ever know

paint it with mastic that is good for metal pipe under ground it should work for rain

seal all the spaces with silicone

Face it do it right and just re-do it

Thanks Guys,

This is waiting on the inspector. Since there seems to be no listed magic device to help me out I guess it's rework time.

I hope compression fittings are raintight. Otherwise I have a lot more problems than this one.

Andy
