Other than looks, do you see anything wrong with using PVC to replace a RMC nipple?

I have to replace an outside MDP and if I can't find the same size panel I will have to change the RMC nipple between the panel and meter.

I went to a service call the other day for partial power. I found they had a bad main breaker. I couldn't find the breaker locally, and the bus was pretty corroded so I recommended replacing the panel. The owner of the building couldn't be reached for a couple of days so I didn't know for sure if he would let me do the job. I just found out that he wants me to do the install.

Anyway, I measured the panel and took pictures, but forgot to measure the length of the nipple. The place is a long drive from me and I don't want to drive there then have to come back to get a different size nipple should I need to. So I thought I would just use a piece of PVC to replace the RMC nipple, and I can cut the PVC to the size I need.

Grounding continuity?

Grounding continuity?

Although I didn't look for sure, but judging from the age of the install, there is not usually any GEC connection in the meter can. The GEC was connected to the grounded conductor at the weather head in most, if not all the older installs. So I don't think any grounding continuity is needed between the meter and panel if that's the case on this one.
