I am adding an Pull Station and Gong to an 20 Year old Warehouse existing FA System. I was told to mount an "3 by 2 device box for an Electronic Bell instead of the old 4 by 4 box. It's a 10000 sq ft Warehouse with existing 10" Gongs but I was told no problem mixing devices as long as they are meant for announcing an Fire Alarm?

The short answer is no. The slightly longer answer is, you can use a new bell/strobe if you change all the existing 10" gongs to bell/strobes. The code requires that only one audible signal be used for fire alarm notification. The preference is for an electronic horn sounding a temporal 3 cadence, but it allows extensions of whatever is existing. You just can't mix audible signals, and an electronic bell is not a gong.
