Mobil Service Invoicing programs/apps

We are looking into a system to allow the techs to eliminate paper invoices and utilize a pda or ipad...

there are several on the market to allow full communication between office and tech for dispatching, scheduling, and idiot-resistant invoicing...

anyone using a system now? can you give me your thoughts?

I've been testing Invoices2Go on an ipad, but I really don't want to have to load all of my items into the program (they are already in Quickbooks). We also don't show line items on estimates and invoices and have not found a way around that in IV2G, yet.

I'm looking for the same solution as you are, so I look forward to the replies.

I have not seen anything worthwhile yet which is why I am slowly writing my own. I am using hanDbase for iPad to do all field duties, time tracking, parts used lists, parts to be order lists, task list to be done next trip etc. Once the updated database is emailed from the field, it will be imported into MS Access where all the purchasing a job costing is done, and then there is an ODBC driver for quickbooks (QODBC) that will allow me to choose what info in Access to sync. Then I'll manage the checkbook and accountant interaction through quickbooks.

It's way more manual syncing than I would like, but the problem is software developers don't understand the subtle nuances that kill the productive software interaction. They know how to make the computer do really fancy things, but don't understand which fancy things help and which get in the way.

that's a issue for us as well. looking for something that can integrate into quickbooks. but I have no desire to send quickbooks out with all the field techs on an ipad

We use the intuit card invoicing with the iPhone.

Invoices to go is another good app

Invoice to go has software that you can transfer your existing base to then load up the iPhone or IPad
The same option is in the intuit iPhone card billing

i'm not so much looking for a mobile billing, as I am a mobile invoicing...we've gotten away from resi, and what little we do, it's no problem to write an invoice and collect payment.

i'm looking more for an application that will make keeping track of T&M in the field, and transferring it back to the office, as idiot proof as possible. And as time unconsuming (sp?) as possible.

then we can bill it from the office - without having to enter the same info 17x....

Buy the invoice to go complete program then move the inventory from QB data to Invoice to go full program and then load your I Pad or iPhone mobile App. Fast and easy and nice to have all that data in your pocket

How do you get the invoice from your I pad to the customer? Printer in the truck?

Can you E mail the invoice to the customer's printer? This computer & cell phone

are the limits of my skills. I still have rotary dial phones at home.

The customer gets a copy to Email and a hard copy in the mail they sign the copy on the iPhone when we swipe their card or they with check or cash
