Good Morning

Most of my experience is on stick homes and I am working on a mobile home (doublewide) and it has wires with snap type connectors coming through the outside walls. Is anyone aware of a good cabinet for these types of connections?

Thanks,
Jose

They require no cabinet. At least the Molex and AMP one's that I'm famaliar with. Regrettably, they're even permitted to be located where you can never get to them again.

These connections are on the outside and the snap on connectors are about 2 to 3 inches.
I think something got lost in the translation here, so I'm not sure if what you're trying to relate is good or bad. Are you saying that the clear cover where these inline connectors connect to the NM cable is missing? And the stabs are exposed?

In cases where the crossover connections hang "outside" I must assume that you mean in the outside "walls" and not "underneath"?

Skyline is one manufacturer that sometimes puts those little buggers in the outside wall, and you have to make them up before the vinyl siding is installed. The problems that accompany this is sometimes an errant nail from the sheathing or siding penetrates one of the wires that is bunched up in the wall cavity, causing headaches for you later on when trying to isolate a short circuit condition.

IF you mean hanging outside underneath the home, simply plug them together and neatly tuck in the excess wires above the black tyvek stuff.

Don't forget to look for the copper bonding wire at one of the ends: There should be a lug on each half, and a short piece of #8 or larger wire to facilitate this procedure.

I really wasn?t sure what I was saying. I had only seen connections underneath a home. I had never seen them in the outside wall.

There are four circuits and yes the NM are all damaged and so are the connectors. The inspector had failed the ?End Wall Inspection? because he wants there to be access to the connections. I repaired the damage connected the wires in a junction box with access to it from the laundry.

Thank you all for your advice.
