mobile home new feeders question far as size

Hello Everyone,
I bought used mobile home had moved so I'm connecting the place up to the power
I'm bought a Square D model sc816d200c 200 Amp Mobile Home Panel mounted to a post with conduit running to the mobile home to the main service panel .
I find that 4 wire is used 4/0-4/0-2/0-4 gauge is that right [h=2]Cerrowire 500 ft. Black and Green Mobile Home Feeder Cable[/h]Model # 540-6800J

I don't think you would need wire that big. See 550.18 and do a load calc.

That wire is most likely Aluminum and that is the size for 200A.

Most mobile homes in this area today have a nameplate requiring a 200 amp feeder.
The cable( http://www.cerrowire.com/files/file/49223_CERRO_MobileHome_LR.pdf ) you selected is normally accepted, however, I would check with your POCO concerning the riser as they often have more stringent rules.

I don't know that it is required, but the EGC in all of this type wire I've seen is insulated.
This is just my opinion, but maybe because pulling through conduit, a bare conductor, especially aluminum, might tend to untwist and cause problems. Where as, SER cable has a bare EGC, but has an outer sheath to protect the bare EGC. Also, most mobile home panels are treated as sub panels and an insulated EGC would reduce the chances of contact with the grounded (neutral) conductor.
Plus, it's a very pretty color of green.

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the wire mfg spec sheet. I didn't look at the code section. Then I guess they want the color coding.

hey the funny thing was my girlfriend wanted to use the old wire from where the trailer was moved from it's 2 gauge buts like 15 years old and crouded and rust is on the outside jacket .
I told her no way that will fly past the final inspection
