Mobile Homes

I’m looking at a potential job to install a generator for a mobile home. Problem is, it’s a mobile home (hitch and axles still attached) originally it was cord and plugged with a 40A 125/250V rating (still placarded on the trailer). At some point someone removed the cord and ran a underground 60A feed in PVC from the panel (60A Main/Range) to a pole outside on the property with a meter socket and no disconnect.
Also, the panel is located in a clothes closet in the bedroom.
What kind of issues do you think if any? If I was to relocate the panel outside the closet with a new 16 or 20 circuit panel (less than 3' from it's current location) with a 50A main and install a new 4-wire cord as a feeder with a 50A 125/250V plug in accordance with Article 550 to be connected to a 50A 125/250V Meter/disconnect/receptacle combination enclosure on the pole.
Thinking if I bring the trailer back to its somewhat original state, then I can install a generator without all the violations. Only concern I have is if I do this, do you think there would be any issues with it no longer being UL listed? especially from a liability stand point.
Thanks

If you're talking about an ATS and an auto-start genny, I'd put it on the line side of the receptacle on the pole.

If you mean a manual-start portable genny, I'd get one that the trailer plug fits, and just move the plug over.

Yes, I'm not worried about the generator part. The issue I'm concerned with is replacing and relocating the panel board along with bringing it back to a cord and plugged feeder.
My thinking is, based on Article 550.11(A) the only option is to install a 125A main lug panel board and install a 40A back fed breaker, to keep the 40A 125/250V rating as it was built. This would also limit the cord setup load to 40A as it's UL placard.

I think you are spot on what your stating. If you follow wiring methods Per 550.15 I don’t see any violations. 550 doesn’t state that wiring branch circuits/panel cannot be added or altered. Unless I’m missing something.
