Normally this is pretty clear but NFPA 79 doesn't really clarify how to handle a mobile electrical panel. I have a gauge table that has 120V power fed by a standard outlet. On this cart is a small enclosure that has some electrical breakers and other minor but serviceable components. Currently our layout has these carts back to back or up against a machine wall. Logically, you can easily move the cart out for service when needed with ample clearance per the specification. However, NFPA79 clearance guide lines appear to only consider fixed electrical panels. Is a mobile panel considered acceptable so long as I can move it out for service to get the required clearance?
