Hello,

I am building a mobile pump cart and will have a 5HP 230V VFD.. I will be plugging this guy into different outlets as needed around my fermentation cellar. I know overload protection is taken care of in the VFD.. and I am installing a hubbell disconnect, does this guy need to be fused or can i rely on the C/B for fusing..?

I remember seeing that items under 400V can use the panel C/B for short circuit protection.... Am i correct?

Before this discussion goes any further, I need to ask how the question is related to your work at the "industrial facility."

Well, im incharge of the electrical in my "industrial facility" and i am unclear on a certain point.. that is how it "pertains" to my job function. If you are going to reply to this thread, at least make it worth my time to read, please do not post ignorant responses, when it is clear in the first post of how it is related to my work.. I am not the janitor tackling a control project.
