Mobile school bus conversion

So I am installing a generator inlet hookup that is going to power a main panel for 120 V to power some receptacles in the vehicle. The vehicle is already equipped with 12 V lighting powered from the vehicle’s battery and the lights are wired with a single ungrounded conductor and when the metal enclosure of the light touches the metal track which houses the lights it completes the circuit and the lights work. The question I have is in the main panel the only ground comes from the generator. Does this meet code?
