I have specified 1000W metal halide (HID) with a 250W quartz re-strike as part of the emergency/egress lighting. To be installed with conduit and wire. Contractor bid the job as all modular wiring. I am okay with this for the "normal" lights and fluorescents on the job.
Have concerns approving MWS for emergency lights, wiring system will not hold up in a fire, not protected from other utilities, prone to get disconnected, etc.
Is there anything in the Code that bans the use of MWS for lights off of emergency power/generator?
