Can anyone tell me where o the net I can buy romex in wall splice kits I can find plenty of splice and tap but no one cable to one cable splice kits.
if there isnt enough romex for 2 boxes then i would find something else to do. but usually in an attic all you really need is a foot of exposed romex to splice into it. you can always fish into the attic from a receptacle or another circuit with a feed in it if you cant get up the chimney or stink pipe. personally i wouldnt use that kind of romex connector devices. i dont trust them at all but thats just mestevenj76 said:I have yet to use any though. I always find an alternative that ensures I won't have to patch any sheetrock. Usually it means a free receptacle.
I am waiting for a situation in an attic where there isn't enough exposed romex to put in two jboxes to free up some slack, that will be the day!
any insulation piercing connector is garbage in my opinion.Jerseydaze said:Ive always noticed that electricians tend to dislike new products or ways of doing things .I always wonder if back in the day you'd here quotes like "BX that stuffs to heavy Knob and Tubes here to stay"Or here's one "Wirenuts, wirenuts ha use tape and solder you'll burn the house down " or "Romex use Bx mice can chew Romex you ll burn the house down"Or Aluminum Romex use copper you ll burn .....oh wait you will burn the house down with that one guess there are reasons you guys are skeptical.
