I have customer who wants to monitor usage on a single 20 amp circuit that is feeding all outdoor lighting. He wants to avoid getting a seperate meter just for this single 20 amp circuit. Does anybody know such a device.

Thanks.

Jason

I assume you're referring to a watthour meter, like what's on your service so the POCO can bill you for electricity used. But basically, what you are looking for is a watthour meter, just like what's on your service so the POCO can bill you for electricity used.

Yes, there are sother devices. Emon/Dmon is one that comes to mind.

But.... since this is a fixed load, and power consumed can easily be computed, I'd suggest simply getting out the old calculator and punching in some numbers.

Jason I had a similar request and had an old POCO meter and socket. It was free and tamper proof. Made some money and everybody was happy.

That sounds about right. Then again, that sounds about right.

Jason,
Does your customer a perminent metering device--or a basic idea of what something is costing him to operate?? An e-mon device is gonna cost about $500. + install and that will be accurate enough to use for billing purposes.. If it's a temporary thing, just put a data logger on it fpr a week!!!
