Please see attached pic.
Design option 1 requires 3 panels and no load shedding. Option 2 requires only 2 panels but load shedding of 60 loads.
In this particular application, which is the better design?
I guess if it is really feasible/possible to shed 60 loads, then option 2 could make sense but you'd still need a main service disc. sw. vs. a panelboard so I'm not sure there's really any cost savings in option 2.
