I'm going to up-grade a 100 amp service in a motel to 200 amp.I have about 150 feet of 2/0 I had left from another job, I would like to use that for the service drop which is a straight up 2-inch rigid mast 10 feet up from the meter socket.
Can I use table 310.15(B)(6) for dwellings and use the 2/0 copper or do I have to go to table 310.16 and use 3/0???
I'm thinking that a motel is a dwelling.

Take a look at the definition of dwelling unit in the NEC.

The service you want to upgrade is for the building, not one unit. Therefore you cannot use 310.15(B)(6).
Use Table 310.16 and reference 240.6.
