Motion detector mysterious problem

I've been checking on this vacancy sensor (basically occupancy sensor that can not be set for automatic on).

You're supposed to push the button to turn the light on, the the light is turned off by timer or by pushing the button off with no permanent-on override.

If it's shut off by the sensor, it will turn back on again if there is a motion within a grace period. This isn't supposed to happen when it is turned off manually by the button.

This sensor re-triggers on motion after a manual off sometimes and I have been able to duplicate it several times. Checked connection and everything was good.

Took it out, bench test it and I can't get it to duplicate.

Any idea?

One major manufacture has the motion opp. sensor mini toggle's right behind the dead front of the switch... so one has Toggle's, electronic's and the switch; all in the same piece.

I've heard it said to me in person and I beleive read it here where electronic's will fail in the first week of it's life or work to it's designed life cycle, and that it can be a known life cycle!

Besides it being a motion sensor it's also a switch, thus it has to endure it's design life, and all the Drama that got it to it's point of usuage.

This sounds like a Sensor Switch Sensor to me. Single button operation for ease of use as long as you like it to be confusing.

Did you check your ground? A faulty ground will create havok with any wall mounted Sensor Switch sensor (and maybe other manufacturers as well).
