We are using motion sensors instead of three-way switches for the lights inside a sheltered aisle switchgear assembly.

Does the code require a bypass switch for "lights stay on" mode ?

The sensor has an ON button, but it times out.

maybe 110.26(D) ??

this is noted as indoor workspace though. your shelter is indoors?

The shelter makes the front of the switchgear indoors. That is where the control switches, indicator lights, draw out circuit breakers are located.

Thanks for the reply.

A non-automatic switch must be added.

Thanks for the code section !!

a automatic switch can be used as long as it has full manual stay-on ability.

the switch in the figure is the switch you described, when you press "on" it goes off after a period of time = violation.
