motor bonding for tubs

whirlpool tubs proper bonding for the moter housing. Usually I install a #8 solid to the nearest cold water pipe when it is metalic. where would you suggest putting this bond when non metalic pipe is used. The local inspector told me to take the solid #8 to the panel ground.

No bonding is required in this application. See 680.74, the only metal parts that must be bonded together are parts that come contact with the CIRCULATING water. Do a forum search for "Poll for Inspectors" to see much discussion on this matter.

Back in the truck.

There is no requirement to bond this installation ..see 680.74

Agreed. Even if the circulating water piping was metallic you still would only need to bond that piping to the pump motor. There is no requirement to take the #8 back to a panel.
