when sizing branch ckts for motors, do you use the ampacities for 14,12,10 awg wire listed on 310.16, or do you follow 240.4(d) for small conductors. please list code ref.

You are permitted to use the 310.16 values. Table 240.4(G),motor and motor control circuit conductors.
