We have an inspector who is saying that the conduit serving a PTAC (Packaged Terminal Air Conditioner) unit is required to be flexible, so as not to transmit vibration. However, the contractor is saying that FMC is not allowed to be imbedded. I can handle that second part. 348.12(6)says FMC cannot be imbedded in concrete. But we are imbedding it in the foam insulation within a wall, and I say that that is allowable.
Can anyone show me a code article that requires motor branch circuits to be flexible? I believe that one or more wiring methods are allowed to be used for motors, so that they can prevent the transmission of vibration. But is that a requirement anywhere? I could not find it in either 300 or 430.
