I have doing single line diagram updates and notices some MCC's have reactors in the incoming feed before the MCC feeder breaker. Not all of the MCC's have the reactors so the question is what is the purpose for the reactors?

Reduce the fault current available would be my SEWAG.

If it's in front of a Main CB, I agree, that's pretty much the only reason to do it.
